This Privacy Policy describes how BarFlex, LLC, a California limited liability company (“BarFlex”, “we”, “us”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our fitness tracking app. By creating an account and using BarFlex, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: Your email address and name when you create an account.
Health & Fitness Data: Workout logs, custom routines, sets/reps/weight, nutrition and food logs, saved meals, readiness check-ins (sleep, soreness, motivation), habits, and body metrics (age, sex, height, weight) you choose to enter.
User Content: Photos, captions, and workout or meal summaries you post to the Community feed.
Social Identifiers: Your name and total training volume appear on posts you create, visible to other users within the app.
2. How We Use Your Information
To provide core app features — logging workouts, building routines, tracking nutrition, generating personalized meal plans, and showing your progress.
To display community posts you create, including photos and workout summaries, to other users.
To personalize recommendations (such as nutrition targets) based on the body metrics and workout history you provide.
To send service-related emails (such as account verification and password reset) to your registered email address.
3. What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect precise location data or device identifiers such as IDFA.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or data brokers.
We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
We do not upload your device address book; friends are added manually by you.
We do not store payment card numbers — any in-app purchases are processed by Apple and never touch our servers.
4. Tracking Disclosure
BarFlex does not track you as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. We do not link your personal data or device identifiers to third-party data for targeted advertising or advertising measurement, and we do not share data with data brokers.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on our app's hosted backend. Photos you upload are stored in our app's file storage and are visible only within the app's community features.
Access to your account is protected by your login credentials. We recommend using a strong, unique password.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. Information you post to the Community feed is shared with other app users as part of the social features you choose to use. We do not share your private workout, nutrition, or biometric data with third parties.
7. Data Retention & Your Rights
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can review and edit your profile and body metrics within the app at any time, and you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app's profile settings. Account deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
On-device preferences (such as theme choice) are stored only in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers.
8. Children's Privacy
BarFlex is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the 'Last updated' date at the top of this page.
